It is with much excitement that we're happy to announce that on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, we launched the first "ImagineBox" in Israel at the Wizo Nahalat Yehuda Youth Village in Rishon LeTzion.

After over a year of Athena Fund's work on the "ImagineBox" project, it is finally official, and students from the Wizo Nahalat Yehuda Youth Village school will begin learning in an interactive and innovative way, while developing 21st century skills, starting the beginning of the next school year this September.

The teachers at the youth village are undergoing training, learning how to use the immersive technology in education.

The launch ceremony was held at the youth village. Among the participants were Mireille Manocherian, Co-President at Women's International Zionist Organization (WIZO), who, together with her husband, Aaron Cohen and family made a donation in honor of their parents – the donation, which made the establishment of the ImagineBox possible, Nina Shapira, WIZO Education Division Chairperson, Gadi Ya'acov, WIZO Education Division Director, Galia Miron, Youth Village Director, Tzahi Tal, Wizo Nahalat Yehuda School Principal, and other distinguished guests from WIZO.

Athena Fund's entire team, including Founder & President Uri Ben-Ari and Program Director Daphna Tamir, as well as Erez Noked, CEO of Totally Interactive company, which imports the immersive technology to Israel, attended the ceremony.

In her special address, Mireille Manocherinan shared with excitement how, together with her husband, the decision came about to donate towards the establishment of the "ImagineBox" in honor of their parents, who instilled in them them love for education and love for Israel. She also said, that she could not think of a better place to establish the first "ImagineBox" in Israel.

Uri Ben-Ari awarded certificates of appreciation to all those involved in the process of making the "ImagineBox" at the youth village a reality. Afterwards, the launch event was completed with the donor recognition plaque reveal, affixing of the mezuzah and the traditional ribbon-cutting at the "ImagineBox."

This summer, additional "ImagineBox" classrooms are being installed in schools around Israel. Athena Fund's dream is that by 2030, this way of learning will be accessible to all Israeli students.
