MOVING FORWARD DESIPTE COVID-19
Although COVID-19 was successful in paralyzing Israel's economy and, for a time, the education system too, it was not able to stop Athena Fund's activities.
While children and educators were locked down at home without the possibility of frontal teaching, we continued to distribute our "Digital Toolbox." Hundreds of school and kindergarten teachers – in Yeruham, Beer Sheba, Savion and Ashkelon – received a “Digital Toolbox,” all the while adhering to the Health Ministry's instructions, of course.
Because of the situation, the distribution and ceremonies were handled entirely differently, with strict social distancing and a limit on the number of people who could be together in the same room.
Our exciting distribution ceremonies took place via ZOOM, and teachers, donors, and representatives of municipalities and partnering organizations connected and participated remotely. Truth be told, we discovered that virtual meetings can be just as exciting and emotional as the in-person ones!
Needless to say, the "Digital Toolboxes" distributed during the COVID-19 crisis were put to immediate use.
